A native of Santiago, Chile, Mariana Acuna was trained at the Bologna, Italy Fine Arts Academy and was recipient of an Foreign Relations ministry schlarship that supported her work for two years. She eventually graduated from the Academia Brera in Milan, where she studied fine arts, painting, and metalwork. Her work has been exhibited in various group and individual shows in Chile, Italy, and France.

Mariana works the canvas surface with graphics, collages and texture. She thus creates a banner-wall, as a rich field of pictoric events, to connote concern for the human spirit and its relation to figures of animals and other forms in nature.

The young artist says of her work that it "reveals new themes related to love, communication between mankind and the environment... understanding the world as an interconnected whole, and as part of the ephimeral, ever-changing course of human existence, both perfect and immortal. "
